50th Anniversary Chairs for Sale While Quanities Last Summer Hours for City Hall and Public Services Department: June 2 - August 29, 2008 City Hall Monday-Thursday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. Public Services Department Monday-Thursday: 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 11 a.m. Police Department hours remain the same. Form of Government The City operates under the Mayor / Alderman form of local government. Oakbrook Terrace has eight elected officials: six Alderman, a Clerk, and a Mayor. The City is divided into three wards with two Aldermen per ward. Together, the Mayor and City Council create policy and direction for the City. They perform such functions as passing resolutions and ordinances, approving the expenditure of money, levying taxes, approving subdivisions, zoning, and other land use regulations, and The Mayor appoints the City Administrator with the approval of the City Council. The City Administrator carries out the policies and oversees the daily operation of City business. Municipal Code Book
Caution: All users of the City's code book should be aware that amending ordinances of a recent nature are adopted into law by the City Council, but do not appear on the website until the entire code book is updated (semi-annually). If you would like to inquire about recent ordinances that have amended sections of this Municipal Code Book, questions should be directed to the Office of the City Clerk, 630-941-8300, Ext. 306.
