Position Description:
The Board of Police Commissioners for the City of Oakbrook Terrace is now accepting applications for the position of Certified Police Officer
Recruiting is being conducted for immediate hiring needs.

You must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen of the United States or an individual who has permanent resident status and is legally authorized to work in the United States. Must under federal law, be authorized to obtain, carry, purchase, or otherwise possess a firearm.
- Driver’s License: Must possess a valid Driver’s License at the time of application with the ability to obtain an Illinois Driver’s License upon time of hire.
- Experience: Must be a certified full-time, sworn officer of a regular police department in any municipal, county, university, or State law enforcement agency, provided they are certified by the Illinois Training and Standards Board as a full-time Law Enforcement Officer or Deputy Sheriff and have been with their respective law enforcement agency (as a full-time officer), in good standing, for at least two (2) continuous years within the three (3) years preceding the date of appointment.
- Education: Must have proof of High School Diploma, GED Certificate or High School Proficiency Statement.
- Residence: At this time there are no stated requirements for residency declared by the City of Oakbrook Terrace
- Character: Must have no felony convictions and be of good moral character as described in State Statute 65 IL 5/10-2.1-6.
- Testing: Must be able to successfully complete all phases of testing
